2008 Toyota Camry Solara Overview
The spirited 2008 Toyota Camry Solara offers the reliability and quality of a standard Camry with a shapely body style and
sporting pretensions. Incorporating a sport suspension, a choice of powerful engines, and a list of impressive amenities, it’s the perfect

The Camry Solara is available in coupe or convertible form with three trim levels – SE, Sport, and SLE. Standard on all coupes is

coupes and standard on convertibles is a 3.3 liter DOHC 24-valve VVT-i V6 engine producing 210 horsepower and 220 lb.-ft. of torque, paired
exclusively with the 5-speed automatic transmission.
In either form, the Camry Solara hosts an array of standard features, including a selection of 16" and 17" aluminum alloy wheels,
remote keyless entry system with illuminated entry, cruise control, and defroster-linked CFC-free air conditioning with air filter.
Optional equipment includes a multi-adjustable power driver’s seat, power tilt/slide moonroof with sliding sunshade (Coupe only), and
leather-trimmed seats and door trim with integrated armrests. Available options on the SLE models include aerodynamic PES High Intensity
Discharge (HID) headlamps with Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and a voice-activated DVD navigation system with JBL® AM/FM 4-disc in-dash CD
changer with satellite radio capability, MP3/WMA playback capability, audio auxiliary jack and FM diversity reception, hands-free phone
calling via Bluetooth®, and steering wheel mounted controls.
The vehicle also incorporates multiple safety features to protect occupants. 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)
are standard, while Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control (TRAC) and Brake Assist is optional. It also incorporates dual
front airbags with the Advanced Airbag System, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, and dual side curtain airbags (Coupe only). A Direct
Tire Pressure Monitor System alerts the driver when tire pressure is critically low.
Turning heads wherever it goes, the 2008 Toyota Camry Solara embodies a refined, sporting nature as a classy coupe or exhilarating
convertible.
Dodge Viper vs. Toyota Camry Solara Comparison
Utility
The Toyota will indubitably prove friendlier than the Dodge Viper for those of you with frequent kid-cargo.
Performance
The Toyota Camry Solara is likely to feel a little sluggish because of its high horsepower-to-weight ratio. With that kind of
horsepower, the Dodge Viper is a full-blown sportscar.
Dimensions
The Toyota Camry Solara is likely to feel a tad slow because of its high horsepower-to-weight ratio. The Viper and the Toyota
Camry Solara compete for the same parking spaces. The Viper's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a more agile
feel in daily traffic than the Camry Solara.
Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Toyota Camry
Solara is quite a bit cheaper to get to the dealership than the Dodge Viper. As far as MSRP, the Dodge Viper costs tremendously more than
the Toyota Camry Solara. The Dodge will cost you a bunch of money in gas every year compared to the Toyota.
Handling
The Dodge Viper's rear-wheel drive layout likely gives it better dry traction than the Toyota Camry Solara; on the flip side, the
Toyota Camry Solara's front-wheel drive layout likely provides better traction in rain, snow or ice. The Dodge Viper has tremendously wider
tires than the Toyota Camry Solara. Note that bigger tires can look and feel better, while narrower tires might improve gas mileage. With
their similar turning radiuses, the Toyota Camry Solara and the Dodge quite certainly handle approximately the same into and out of tight
spots.
Drivetrain
The Dodge Viper has a more sizeable engine than the Toyota Camry Solara. Remember that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix,
but smaller engines can be stressed more. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Dodge Viper is
tremendously more powerful than the Toyota Camry Solara.
Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Camry Solara's front cabin compared to the Viper.
Overview
The Toyota Camry Solara and the Dodge Viper have the same basic warranty.
